# Thermal, Thermal Monoculars
The Guide ORION O635CS thermal clip-on is a compact thermal imaging attachment for compatible daytime optics. It also supports handheld monocular mode, allowing the same device to serve as a handheld thermal spotter for observation.
The O635CS provides 1× magnification with a 35mm F0.9 objective. Its 12.5° × 9.4° field of view covers 22 × 17m at 100m, with thermal detection up to 1800m. Adapter rings are optional accessories, and compatibility depends on the host optic and selected adapter.
The ApexVision S1 architecture combines an ApexCore S1 detector, Nexus 1.0 platform and Hyper-Light 2.0 algorithm. Its uncooled VOx sensor resolves 640 × 512 pixels at a 12µm pitch, with 15mK NETD and a 50Hz frame rate. Image processing adjusts contrast, brightness, target highlighting and tonal balance.
The 0.49-inch AMOLED display presents thermal imagery at 1920 × 1080 resolution. Seven palettes let you select a display appearance to suit the scene. Manual focus uses a tactile focusing knob, and the eyepiece provides 20mm eye relief. Startup takes approximately three seconds, with 26ms image latency.
The O635CS weighs 285g and measures 99 × 73 × 68mm. A single replaceable 18500 battery provides up to seven hours of operating time, while USB-C accepts an external power supply. Two 18500 batteries and a battery charger are supplied.
The housing carries an IP67 rating and a 6000J shock-resistance specification. Its operating temperature range is -20°C to +50°C.
