This Privacy Policy explains how Optics World (“we”, “us” or “our”) handles information in connection with the private internal application named Market Research Agent (the “Application”).
1. Purpose of the Application
The Application is an internal, read-only market research tool. Its purpose is to help Optics World analyse product-category demand, content trends and aggregate engagement signals for internal business research.
The Application is not offered to consumers, does not allow users to publish Pins, and is not used for messaging, advertising delivery or individual user profiling.
2. Current Status
The Application is awaiting Pinterest API approval. It does not currently collect or process information through the Pinterest API.
If API access is approved, the Application will process only information made available through authorised Pinterest API endpoints and only for the internal research purpose described in this policy.
3. Information We May Process
Subject to the access granted by Pinterest, the Application may process:
- public Pin or content metadata returned by authorised API endpoints;
- aggregate engagement and reporting metrics;
- search terms, category labels and trend-related signals used for market research; and
- technical request logs needed to operate, secure and troubleshoot the Application.
The Application is not intended to collect private messages, precise location data, payment information, sensitive personal data or private account content.
4. How We Use Information
We use permitted information only to:
- identify aggregate product and content trends;
- understand recurring public topics and engagement patterns;
- prepare internal product market research reports;
- maintain the security and reliability of the Application; and
- comply with applicable law and Pinterest’s developer requirements.
We do not sell Pinterest data, use it to build individual profiles, use it for credit or eligibility decisions, or use it to train general-purpose artificial intelligence models.
5. Sharing
Research outputs are for internal Optics World use. We do not sell or license Pinterest data to third parties.
Information may be disclosed only where required by law or to service providers that support the Application under appropriate confidentiality and data-protection obligations. No service provider may use the information for its own independent purposes.
6. Retention and Deletion
We retain authorised API data only for as long as needed for the internal research purpose, operational security and applicable legal obligations, and subject to Pinterest’s retention and deletion requirements.
When information is no longer required, or when deletion is required by Pinterest or applicable law, we delete or anonymise it. A request concerning access, correction or deletion can be sent to the contact address below.
7. Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to restrict access to authorised personnel and protect information against unauthorised access, loss, alteration or disclosure. API credentials are not published in research reports or shared publicly.
8. Your Rights
Depending on applicable law, individuals may have rights to request access to, correction of or deletion of personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. Requests can be submitted using the contact details below. We may need to verify the request before responding.
9. Children’s Privacy
The Application is not directed to children and is not intended to collect information from children.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy when the Application’s authorised functionality or legal requirements change. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated when changes are made.
