The Scout 650L Thermal Monocular is a handheld thermal imaging device developed for observation, search, and outdoor field use. Combining a 640 × 512 uncooled VOx detector, NETD ≤15 mK, and a 50 mm F0.9 objective lens, it delivers detailed thermal imagery while maintaining a compact body measuring 218 × 82 × 70 mm.
Its thermal sensor operates at a 50 Hz frame rate with a 12 μm pixel pitch, allowing smooth image presentation through the integrated 0.39-inch AMOLED display with a 1024 × 768 resolution. Users can switch between White Hot, Black Hot, Red Hot, Fusion, and Golden Hot colour palettes, as well as select City, Plain, or Forest scene modes to match different observation environments.
The Scout 650L combines long-distance thermal detection with built-in laser ranging. According to the supplied specifications, it provides a detection range of up to 2.6 km and a recognition range of 640 m for human-sized targets.
For distance measurement, the monocular integrates a 905 nm Class 1 laser rangefinder capable of measuring distances up to 1.2 km with an accuracy of ±1 metre. Three ranging cursor types and three cursor colour options are also supported, allowing users to perform distance measurement directly through the device.
The optical system features a 50 mm F0.9 objective lens with a manual focus roller, a 2.7× base magnification, and 1×, 2×, and 4× digital zoom. The display supports brightness adjustment, contrast adjustment, image enhancement, Picture-in-Picture, and screen adaptation, enabling users to customise the viewing experience according to different conditions.
Additional imaging functions include:
These functions are integrated into the onboard operating system and can be accessed using the one-handed control layout.
The Scout 650L includes 64 GB of eMMC internal storage for saving photos, videos, and audio recordings. Wireless connectivity is supported through 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, enabling communication with a compatible mobile application.
Power is supplied by one replaceable 21700 battery, providing an operating time of at least 7.5 hours under the specified test conditions. The device also supports 5 V USB Type-C external power for charging and data transfer.
Designed for field use, the Scout 650L features an IP67 protection rating and operates within a temperature range of −20°C to +50°C. The monocular weighs 715 g or less (without battery), making it suitable for handheld operation while maintaining a compact overall size.
