Privacy Policy for Market Research Agent

This Privacy Policy explains how Optics World (“we”, “us” or “our”) handles information in connection with the private internal application named Market Research Agent (the “Application”).
1. Purpose and access
The Application is a private, internal, read-only research tool used only by authorised Optics World staff. It connects to an Optics World-controlled Pinterest business account and processes data returned by Pinterest API endpoints that the authenticated account is authorised to access.
The initial integration requests only pins:read, boards:read and user_accounts:read. It does not request write scopes, publish or save Pins, send messages, manage advertising, access secret Pins or Boards, or profile individual users.
2. Current status
The Application does not process Pinterest API data before access is approved. If approved, it will process only data returned by authorised Pinterest API endpoints for the authenticated Optics World account or for specific public Pinterest resources supplied by authorised staff. It will not scrape Pinterest pages or search or copy content outside the approved API.
3. Information processed
- Pin and Board metadata returned by authorised read endpoints;
- the authenticated account’s public profile and account identifiers;
- permitted aggregate metrics for resources the account is authorised to analyse;
- product-category labels and internal research tags added by authorised staff; and
- technical request logs needed to operate, secure and troubleshoot the Application.
The Application is not intended to collect private messages, precise location, payment information, sensitive personal data or private account content.
4. Use of information
Permitted information is used only to analyse authorised product and content data, prepare internal market research reports, maintain Application security and comply with applicable law and Pinterest developer requirements.
We do not sell Pinterest data, create individual profiles, make credit or eligibility decisions, or use Pinterest data to train general-purpose artificial intelligence models.
5. Sharing
Research outputs are for internal Optics World use. We do not sell or license Pinterest data. Information may be disclosed only where required by law or to service providers supporting the Application under confidentiality and data-protection obligations.
6. Retention and deletion
Authorised API data is retained for no longer than 90 days unless Pinterest or applicable law requires a shorter period. Aggregated, non-identifying findings may be retained when they cannot be used to reconstruct Pinterest account or Pin-level data.
Data is deleted or anonymised when no longer required, when an authorised account disconnects the Application, or when required by Pinterest or applicable law.
7. Security
We use administrative and technical safeguards to limit access to authorised personnel and protect information against unauthorised access, loss, alteration or disclosure. API credentials are not published in reports or shared publicly.
8. Rights and requests
Depending on applicable law, individuals may request access, correction or deletion of personal information, or object to or restrict processing. We may need to verify a request before responding.
9. Children’s privacy
The Application is not directed to children and is not intended to collect information from children.
10. Changes
We may update this policy when the Application’s authorised functionality or legal requirements change. The effective date will be updated when changes are made.
